Colbert Mukwevho recieves an honorary doctorate

The University of Venda chancellor Honourable Kgalema Motlhanthe confered an honorary Doctoral degree under the school of human and social science to famous reggae artist Colbert Mukwevho during Univen 2018 Spring  graduation ceremony.


Colbert Mukwevho is a limpopo born
reggae musician. His music is at the forefront of the upliftment of language, culture and tradition of the Vhavenda people. He also sings in Xitsonga and English.

Mukhevho was born in a musical family and joined his father and uncle’s band The Thrilling Artists in 1975 as a backing vocalist and later as a bassist and a lead singer, to date he has recorded close to 20 albums.

Dr. Colbert Mukwevho is now a doctor of philosophy in arts and social sciences
