The African National Congress’s (ANC) website has been taken down following reports that the party owes it’s service provider millions.
According to Business Live, attorneys at Unwembu Communications have instructed the service provider to take down the site until the ANC pays the money they owe them.
It is alleged that the money owed to Unwembu Communication by the ruling party is R32.5 million. However, ANC’s spokesperson Pule Mabe has denied that they have a contract with Unwembi Communications.
“The only reason why our website is down is because we are revamping it. It has nothing to do with us not paying people,” Mabe said.
When inspecting the ANC’s website, it doesn’t go though it should a message which reads: “The server is currently going under maintenance”.
