A bus accident in Kenya has claimed the lives of 40 people, Police said.
According to reports, the incident happened during the early hours of Wednesday. Rift Valley Provincial Traffic Officer Zero Arome, talking to AFP said: ” Reports reaching me are that more than 40 people dies on the spot but it could be more because the roof of the bus was ripped off.”
Another traffic officer who was also on the scene placed the number of deaths to 42.
The AFP reports that the police stated that the bus was traveling from Nairobi to the Western town of Kakamega and was carrying 52 passengers.
