Two police officers have been arrested following a murder of a Tshwane University of Technology(TUT) student.
Katlego Monareng was shot and killed at the TUT Soshanguve North campus in August 2018 when violence broke out after students claimed that the SRC voting system was rigged.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has confirmed a constable and a captain were handcuffed earlier on Monday.
According to eNCA, one officer has been arrested for shooting and the other for commanding the shots.
The pair face a charge of murder and are expected to appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
