Former Democratic Alliance leader in KwaZulu-Natal Sizwe Mchunu is part of five new leaders of opposition parties that have joined the ANC on Wednesday morning.
Mchunu was the leader of the DA in the province from 2009 to 2015. In a statement He said: “Today marks the end of my relationship with the DA but today also marks the beginning of a new journey to assist the ANC to save South Africa,” Mchunu told IOL.
He added that “no doubt that the ANC was the vehicle and machinery” to rescue South Africa.
Meanwhile, Mlaba revealed that he had been under no pressure to join the ANC, but wanted to join a “moving” party.
“I decided to join a moving movement,” said Mlaba.
