Motorists To Go Deeper Into Their Pockets At The Pump

South African motorists are going to go deeper into their pockets paying for petrol. The increment is mainly due to the sharp rise in global oil prices and weakening Rand.

Energy Department spokesperson, Robert Maake, says diesel 0.05% sulphur will increase by 1 cent a litre and diesel 0.005% sulphur will remain unchanged.

“The main reasons for these increases is the higher crude oil prices during the period under review which led to higher prices of petrol and diesel.

“However, the rand performed well against the dollar during the period under review and it saved us about 13 cents a liter,” said Maake.
