Academic activities at Forest High school will resume on Thursday following the death of one pupil, and two others injured.
It is alleged that the incident which happened on Monday was gang related. Gauteng education’s Steve Mabona says examinations will resume on Thursday when the school reopens.
“We have satisfied ourselves in terms of the process of counselling which commence on the day of the incident. We continued with the interaction with the affected learners but also extended that to the employees.”
“Next week we will be in a position to can recover from the past two days that we’ve lost. We will find space in our schedule to make sure that the lost days are accounted for because we want to finalise these examinations before we close for the term.”
Meanwhile, the accused pupil appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday on charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing three pupils at the school in the south of Johannesburg during a fight between two rival groups.
