The young stars of KwaNdebele are changing the game of selling and promoting their products. Their weekends become busy for them as they hit the streets Mpumalanga, KwaNdebele and let everyone see what they are all about and to sell their hats. They sell hats (ingwani) while wearing their Ndebele attire.
They opened the business of selling hats, their business name is Ingwani Creations. They are not selling just any hats but hats that are painted in Ndebele drawings. Ingwani Creations is a company that is owned by four young minds Thando Mahlangu, Skhumbuzo Masango, Nonhlanhla Mahlangu and Nqobile Masuku. It is a first business that is selling on the streets especially cultural products and the first to own the shipping machine.
They started their company after one of their campaigns they held in January 2017 #WeNeedIsiNdebeleOnTv, where they marched to Auckland Park Johannesburg for IsiNdebele to be recognized on television. After their campaign people started requesting Ndebele painted attire and the hats. This is where they saw the gab and demand in the market.
“Unemployment is one of the crisis the country is facing and we know that the government cannot hire us all. This also inspired us to start our own company so that we can also help in job creation. The main aim of our business is to encourage young people to love their culture and speak their languages proudly, said Thando Mahlangu Ingwani Creation owner.
He also added that people need to appreciate their talents and embrace them at all times. They are planning on opening the Gallery Studio and they wish to have their shop where people can get the products they need as they are now selling on the streets.
