Minister Lamola launched the first prison radio station in South Africa

Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola has blessed the Brandvlei Correctional Centre with a radio station.
The station that is called Basic Radio 98.7, is the first one to be built in the continent and it’s going to be operated by inmates. Lamola visited the station and went on air alongside radio personality, Phat joe.
“I’m here with a message. I’m going to take this station nationwide. You guys will be heard coast to coast. I’m talking to your managers and programme directors right now”, said Phat Joe.
