The controversial pastor Timothy Omotoso’s rape trial has been remanded again to Wednesday in Cape Town.
A new judge has however come on board after judge Mandela Makaula decided to back down. The new judge Irma Schoeman was appointed to preside over the trial in the Port Elizabeth High Court. Their lawyer, Peter Daurbernmann wants the state to produce to him particulars of the 97 charges which are hanging on Omotoso’s shoulders.
On the other hand, Home Affairs has also served Omotoso with papers that confirms him being in the country illegally. They state he is, “A prohibited person in South Africa.” His prohibited status was not lifted after his application. The pastor and his co-accused are holding their hearts on their hands as their fate is still about to be decided by the courts.
