No load-sheeding this month

Eskom rubbished claims made by the Democratic Alliance (DA) that it issued warnings to municipalities about the possibility of load shedding at the end of this month and October.

On Thursday DA’s member of Parliament Natasha Mazzone Penned a letter to Eskom’s Jabu Mabuza to seek clarity about the potential rolling blackouts.


But Eskom’s general manager for system operations Bernard Magoro said that the power utility had not issued any warning to municipalities about possible power cuts.

SABC To Broadcast four Rugby World Cup games

On Saturday the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) announced that it broadcast 2019 Rugby World Cup games in Japan on radio.

The public broadcaster acquired rights to broadcast four matches featuring the springboks, as well as two semi-finals and the final match.

114 people arrested In Johannesburg over the weekend

Johannesburg Central district South African Police Service (SAPS) have managed to arrest 114 people for various offences during crime combating operations conducted from Friday to Sunday morning.
