‘You can voetsek’, Malema replies the Editorial article that deemed the EFF apology inadequate

EFF Leadership
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is seen with Floyd Shivambu and Dali Mpofu with other leaders during a media conference at the party’s Braamfontein headquarters on January 23, 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The court ruled on Friday that the EFF and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi must apologize to the journalists within 24 hours and also pay them R40,000 each and their legal costs.

EFF then issued a one-line apology to journalists after the court order.

“In terms of the court order, we unconditionally retract and apologize for the allegations made against Mrs. Thandea Gqubule-Mbeki and Mr. Anton Harber.” The statement read and concluded.

The SowetanLive editorial wrote on Monday about how inadequate the EFF apology was. CIC replied the editorial piece that ‘[they] can voetsek’

‘The EFF one-liner was issued on Saturday. It is an apology alright, but the damage caused by the defamatory statement is immeasurable and the insincerity of it will do little to make amends,’ the Editorial piece stated.
