Maduvha Madima’s New Single Featuring The Late Oliver Mtukudzi is out
South African afro-pop and gospel singer Maduvha Maduma released her latest single ‘Nyarara‘. The song featured the late and legendary Oliver Mtukudzi.
Nyarara is a Shona word for calming, keeping quiet or never crying.
The ‘Ndi a ni funa’ hitmaker, who’s s best known on television for her role as Vele Rambulana on the SABC 2 soapie Muvhango, spoke to the local presenter ‘SABC Livhu’ during the single launch.
“When [Oliver Mtukudzi] died on the 23rd of January, he left me with four songs, but I felt that it was not appropriate to release the songs during the time because we were still grieving,” Maduvha said. (Interview translated from Tshivenda)
The Nyarara song speaks about a young woman who was fed up about her relationship and decides to go home. At home, she’s told to return to her husband, but the young woman is persistent on her stay; she’s done with the crying and enduring the pains.
Maduvha took to Twitter to announce to her followers about her new single. “Nyarara song available on all digital platforms,”
