Sasha-Lee Olivier Crowned Miss South Africa

Miss South Africa 2019 runner-up, Sasha-Lee Olivier has now officially taken over from Zozibini Tunzi as the new Miss South Africa.

This is a result ofย Zozibiniย winning the Miss Universe title in 2019. Sasha Lee will now conduct the responsibilities of Miss South Africa while Zozibini focuses on Miss Universe. Her focus will be on helping survivors of sexual abuse as she is a survivor herself.

The Miss South Africa Social Media account made the announcement

The official Miss SA social media account made the official announcement on Wednesday.

Sasha took to Instagram to also share the news, she reached out to South Africans, sharing how excited she is.

“Iโ€™m humbled and so incredibly excited to take over the reigns from our Miss Universe as Miss South Africa,” she wrote.

“I cannot think of anyone who is more suitable to be Miss South Africa. Sasha has it all: beauty, brains and, above all, a commitment to help others. I have no doubt that she will use her reign to help improve the lot of those in need,” Tunzi said.

Miss World crown

The 26-year-old recently participated in the Miss World pageant and made it into the competition’s top 40.

The Miss World crown went to Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh.
