Kwanele Nene popularly known as DJ Sthenjwa passed away. A family member confirmed on Friday. The 29-year-old Sthenjwa died after ‘sustaining a head injury’ after being ‘mugged’ in late January.
Sthenjwa was remembered by friends and family who shared moments with him. Meanwhile, a notable number of people admitted they had not met the DJ but he was a great soul from the ‘online’ experience they had with him.
“Kwanele will be laid to rest in KZN.. most likely will be the coming weekend, [thanks] for the condolences,” Nene Charlene, sister to the DJ, announced.
A friend, Nelly, described Sthenjwa as someone who could ‘take a joke from his skinniness to his mubiness,”
“Sthenjwa was a happy soul, troll my big head any day he wanted to. He made the TL lit all the time. I’m so sad you left us so early bro, life’s too short,” Twitter user @isirbongz wrote.
Kwanele had a movement called #MubiGang a while ago on Twitter and was one of the people who made Twitter, particularly Black Twitter, to be popular in the early days in South Africa.
Nene was the dad of two kids. He was undoubtedly a family man. He always shared the moments he had with his children.
