Four men were arrested after they were found in possession of 27 stolen sheeps in the Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson Capt Khaya Tonjeni said the stock theft unit from King William’s Town and Somerset East spotted the taxi during an operation on major routes in the Eastern Cape.
The men aged 30 and 33 who were inside the taxi, allegedly struggled to explain the situation when they were approached by the police.
Meanwhile, The sheeps has been confiscated by the Asset Forfeiture Unit. However, one farmer has identified the stolen animals as his.
They will appear in the Somerset East magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
