The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) slammed reports by media of Malema’s warrant of arrest.
Meanwhile, the East London Magistrate’s Court has indeed issued a warrant of arrest for Julius Malema for failing to show up in court, the party slammed media headlines stating they cause ‘unnecessary public outrage’
“The issued warrant is therefore standard procedure and is not a cause for concern for the CIC or the EFF,” EFF said in a statement
“It should not be a cause for concern for any of our supporters or sympathizers,”
Malema has charges leveled against himself for allegedly discharging a firearm during the EFF’s rally back in 2018 in a public space. The charges were brought upon the EFF leader by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

Malema is due to appear in court again on May 8 whilst the warrant for his arrest has been stayed.
When explaining last year September regarding the incident after being contacted by the police, he said “Police have contacted me and said they requested to see me oñ Tuesday for a warning statement. I think they have a taken decision to charge me..but no worries, that’s my life, me and the establishment always fight.”
Juju has since claimed to have not known that he was discharging a real firearm. He maintains that he was told it was a replica.
