Following news that Sjava will not be performing at this year’s Cape Town International Jazz Festival, fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions.
Organizers announced the news on social media. It said in part, “PLEASE NOTE: Due to the seriousness of the allegations leveled against Sjava, the Management of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival has withdrawn Sjava’s performance from the CTIJF 2020 line up.”
EBNewsDaily reported earlier on that Lady Zamar has apparently opened a court case against the musician Sjava.
It is alleged that Sjava raped fellow musician Lady Zamar in the Royal Heritage Festival in Limpopo in 2017.
Sjava replied in November 2019 saying he is aware of the allegations made by Zamar and that he is pursuing through formal legal channels.
Meanwhile, the matter has been forwarded to Thohoyandou police station for further investigations.
Lady Zamar is also scheduled to perform at the festival this year and is one of the headliners.
