Rhodes University has once again made headlines on social media after the first-year students got married on 4 March 2020 after dating for two weeks.
EBNewsDaily learned that the first-year students who are from the Enoch house got married at Home Affairs offices after dating for two weeks in what the social media community described as hasty and shocking.
This comes at a time when Wits university students are protesting over inadequate accommodation, a matter that has forced them to sleep in laboratories and lecture rooms. Meanwhile, these Freshmen seem to have less student issues to worry about.
However, some students on the campus, couldn’t hide their joy and applauded the couple for taking a big step of their lives. Students were quick to plan wedding steps for their colleagues.
Rhodes university also made headlines in February 2020, after a 67-year old realizes his dream of studying at a higher education institution after passing his grade 12 fifty years ago.
