The acting spokesperson for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Ms. Mnoni Seapolelo has announced on Friday 6 March 2020, that the pioneering broadcaster and drive time morning radio host Majota Khambule “Phat Joe” has resigned from Radio 2000.
“The SABC radio station, Radio 2000, would like to announce the resignation of it’s breakfast show host, Mr Majota “Phat Joe” Khambule,” she said.
Ms. Mnoni also said the radio station wishes Mr Majota well on his future projects.
“The radio station would like to wish Phat Joe well on his future endeavors and thank him for his contribution to the station,” she said.
Phat Joe said he looks forward to work on new projects with SABC.
“I look forward to continuing my work with the SABC on new and developing projects. I am deeply thankful to Radio 2000 Family for welcoming me to radio, a medium that i love,” he said.
The broadcaster has also thanked Hazel Tlhabane for being a good steward.
“I would like to especially thank Hazel “Sis H” Tlhabane, for her stellar stewardship of the brand into the fastest growing station in the country and to thank her for all that she has done for me and my team,” he said.
Khambule, joined the breakfast show ‘Phat Joe and the family’ in April 2019.
