Al Ahly currently lead Mamelodi Sundowns 2:0 in aggregate
Mamelodi Sundowns will want to redeem themselves when they meet the Egyptian side Al Ahly this Saturday afternoon in CAF Champions league 2nd leg.
Pitso Mosimane’s side suffered a 2:0 defeat in Cairo the past Saturday with Ali Maâloul scoring twice.
Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns last played in April 2019, the ‘Red Devils’ were lashed a resounding 5:0 in Tshwane. Sundowns will be hoping for similar results to qualify for the semi-finals.
As it stands, the South African side needs three goals to win the match, provided the Egyptians do not respond. Sundowns could also redeem themselves through two goals to settle the aggregate and thus kicking-off to decide the winners.
Meanwhile, Sundowns veteran midfielder who just extended his contract with the team warned the Red Devil that they have to dace to Sundowns tune on Saturday.
“We know very well that we didn’t score in Egypt and it’s something we want to rectify here at home,” said the optimistic Kekana on a media briefing on Thursday.
“I hope we don’t get a stage-fright and try to give a good performance. I think one early goal can set the tone. We can’t start slow in this match. We must come out strong.”
