The Economic Freedom Fighters said they will appeal the court’s ruling on Mkhwebane vs Ramaphosa matter.
On Tuesday, the Pretoria High Court ruled against Public Protector’s CR17 campaign report. Judge Elias Matojane said the investigation was unlawful and reckless.
“To begin with, it is apparent that the Public Protector was confused about the legal foundation of her findings,” he said.
EFF said they will be appealing the decision.
“The EFF categorically rejects the ruling of the Gauteng North High Court which has absolved Ramaphosa from accountability as per the rules of parliament and the constitution. We shall therefore appeal the ruling with the Constitutional Court,” the party said in a statement.
The Red Berets further said they reject the logic that Ramaphosa did not personally benefit from the CR17 campaign funds.
