Eskom announced that they will continue with load-shedding Stage 4. The power utility moved from Stage 2 to Stage 4 yesterday, saying there are additional breakdowns.
“We regret that Eskom’s systems are currently down and customers are unable to access schedules. Our IT dept is working on the problem and we hope to be back online as soon as possible. We apologise for this inconvenience,” Eskom said on Wednesday.
Eskom said the teams are investigating the root causes of the fault, and will advise of the remedy as soon it is established.
“The load of approximately 930MW unit puts further strain on the generation fleet, necessitating an increase in the stage of loadshedding”
Usually, load-shedding Stage 4 classically takes power for 4 hours.
