Eskom has reported an urgent crisis at the utility on Wednesday, forcing them to implement Stage 4 ‘until further notice’.
In a statement, Eskom said this was caused by shortage of generation capacity resulting from unplanned breakdowns.
“Eskom will continue to implement Stage 4 load-shedding until further notice,
“The pump fault on Koeberg Unit 1 is being fixed, and it is envisaged that the unit will be back in service at the weekend. In the meantime, we continue utilizing emergency generation reserves, including diesel, to supplement supply,”
“We are expecting some generation units to return to service today, which will help ease the supply constraints and reduce the stage of loadshedding”
