Asanda Magaqa who was recently replaced by radio personality Masechaba Ndlovu as Spokesperson for the minister of sports, arts and culture will now take a break from social media.
“Under the circumstances, I am taking a brief sabbatical from social media. If you derive some kind of titillation from these developments, good for you. Just know that God has carried me through far worse,” she said.
Magaqa said she is overwhelmed by savage jokes that people are making about her after losing her job.
“What has shattered my heart most is not the news i woke up to, not your collective whys and hows, but seeing my name as a subject of speculation, jokes, and damaging insinuations and seeing strangers mock and laugh at me as I undergo a devastating moment in my life,” she said.
Asanda Magaqa held the position as Spokesperson for the minister of sports, arts, and culture from April 2018, but the reasons behind her being relieved from the post have not been revealed.
Magaqa has thanked those who are sympathizing with her during this difficult time of her life.
“To my friends, comrades, big and little sisters and brothers, thank you for your outpouring of love, sympathy, prayer, and support,” said Magaqa.
