The Department of Health in South Africa has confirmed that the country’s cases have increased from 62 t0 116 this week, meanwhile confirming that all Wuhan repatriated citizens tested negative.
A total of 31 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday morning.
“There has been an increase of 31 new cases from yesterday’s announcement,” Zweli Mkhize said.
On Tuesday the department confirmed a total of 85 cases with zero death.
The department says more results will be expected from the private laboratories who di private testings and the public will be informed of the confirmed cases.
President of the country Cyril Ramaphosa declared a state of national disaster as a way to fight the pandemic.
Ramaphosa imposed measures include closing down of schools, gatherings and reduced travelling locally and internationally.
