OR Tambo airport notified on Friday 20 March, that flights from COVID-19 high risk areas are still landing in the country.
“Please be advised that flights are still currently landing from high risk areas, but only South African citizens are permitted to disembark,” they said.
The airport’s Twitter handle added that the aircrafts that have landed have been taken to an isolated bay to ensure that the Department of Health conducts screening procedures and that utmost care is being taken.
OR Tambo also noted that travel regulations to curb the spread of COVID-19 will be implemented.
“Travel regulation aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 gazetted by the Department of Transport are being implemented on 20 March 2020,”they said.
