The South African health ministry confirmed on Thursday that the coronavirus cases have tolled to a 927. The department says 218 new cases of the pandemic virus were added.
“As of today, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Africa have risen by 218. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 927,” Zweli Mkhize announced.
Gauteng remains the most hit province with over 400 cases, arguably the epicentre of the virus in South Africa.
South Africa will embark on a 21 days lockdown from midnight on Thursday, 26 March.
