‘Students should not treat the lockdown as a holiday’
Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande says learning should not stop during the lockdown. The minister was speaking on Saturday noon at the National Command Council (NCC) meeting for updates during the 21 days lockdown.
Nzimande says students should not treat the lockdown as a holiday but should continue to learn during the time.
“This will actually help us that after the lockdown we are able to catch up [quickly] with the time we have lost.
Nzimande says he is in talks with the Minister of Communications, Telecommunications and Postal Services Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to find ways and modalities to make sure online learning continues while the country is in lockdown.
The minister also assured students that their allowances will be distributed during this time.
