The telecommunication company MTN, has announced that in collaboration with the Competition Commission directive, they have made developments to cut their data prices with the first solution being implemented as of 20 April 2020.
“MTN is proud to announce to announce the development of a set of consumer-focused solutions including, price reductions, free data, free access to public benefit websites and more in the quest for a modern connected life for all,” they said.
These options include:
- reduction of price of monthly bundles 1GB and below by 25-50%
- 1GB monthly bundle will decrease by 33% to R99
- provide ‘life line’ to each customer, 20MB of free data daily will amount to 600MB per customer per month
The telecommunications company said these options will be available to customers via *135# and the new MTN app.
