Speaking at a press a conference in Pretoria on Thursday, 02 April, Minister of Police, Bheki Cele said over 87000 complaints of GBV have been brought forward during the first week of the 21-day lockdown.

Meanwhile, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities has raised concerns about the increasing cases of GBV that are being perpetrated by renegades during the lockdown period.
