Health MEC of Eastern Cape, Sindisiwe Gomba faces backlash for saying she is tired after having a critical health briefing on COVID-19 with the Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.
MEC Gomba didn’t realize that her device was not muted after she finished giving her contribution to the meeting and had to be asked to mute it.
“(Andidikwe) I have had enough,” she said.
Gomba’s statement comes after the ANC Youth League in Nelson Mandela Bay has been calling for Eastern Cape health MEC to be recalled and replaced by a medical doctor.
The ANCYL cites that they were dissatisfied with the provincial health department’s lack of precision in dealing with a pandemic as deadly as the coronavirus.
Social media is abuzz with comments reiterating that the MEC’S statement might be a confirmation to what the ANCYL has been saying about the MEC’s incompetence and inability to lead the health department in the province during such a critical time the nation is battling with COVID-19.
