United States president, Donald Trump faces criticism after suggesting that injecting people with disinfectant and hitting the body with a very powerful light could kill coronavirus.
Trump raised this possible treatment at a White House press briefing , after William Bryan a senior Homeland Security Science and Technology advisor delivered a report claiming that ultraviolet ray (UVs) and heat have a potent impact on the virus.
Bryan’s report also suggests that bleach can destroy the virus in saliva within five minutes, while isopropyl alcohol takes just a minute to kill it.
Trump using this research then suggested that “the disease might be treated by somehow closing the body with UV rays or injecting disinfectant into the body,”.
Piers Morgan, the veteran British broadcaster criticized Trump and suggests that he needs to stop airing these ‘absurd and reckless theories’.
“This is not just insane, it’s also dangerous. If Americans now die from injecting themselves with disinfectant, their deaths will be solely on president Donald Trump. He needs to stop airing these absurd and reckless theories,” he said.
