Only 27 new Coronavirus cases as total toll at 1380

The department of health in South Africa has unveiled the mobile sampling and testing units. Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize led the procession on Wednesday in Sandringham, Johannesburg.

Mkhize announced only a slight increase from yesterday’s case with only 27 increases. The total confirmed cases of the day stands at 1380.

While the number looks like progress, the health minister warned that the coming few months may hit the country much worse with the flu season approaching.

“Next month the flu season will start and these will flood our hospitals and clinics. This small growth in numbers means we may be currently experiencing the calm before the storm,” Mkhize warned

Mkhize also used the opportunity to announce that he tested for coronavirus but yielded negative.
