A well-crafted fake picture made its way to social media leaving many South Africans believing that alcohol sales will continue on limited times.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has warned on Sunday evening that the picture is fake and should not be circulated anymore as that would lead to prosecution.
Alcohol sales remain restricted in South Africa during the lockdown period.
“#sapsHQ Social media users are warned against circulating further this doctored television screenshot as doing so could lead to criminal charges,” SAPS announced.
