Contrary to what was said initially, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says all Spaza Shops can now operate.

Dlamini-Zuma was addressing the media on the revised regulations during the lockdown on Thursday.

Dlamini-Zuma also amended the number of people allowed during a funeral. As it stands, only 50 family members can attend a burial gathering, this – not including those responsible for diggings.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele says Cigarette sales are prohibited nationwide, warning the Western Cape DA’s led government that the rules apply even in Western Cape.

Earlier, several grocery stores were allowed to sell cigarettes in some Western Cape municipalities according to Garden Route District, Herman Peters on Sunday 29 March.
