April 2nd marks the two year- anniversary of the passing on of South African Anti-apartheid activist and politician Winnie Mandela.
Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) described Mama Winnie as someone who was a liberator, a freedom fighter and mother of the nation.
“We remembering a liberator, a freedom fighter and mother of the nation. Long live the undying spirit of Mama Mandela long live,” they said.
Winnie Mandela passed away in 2018 at a Johannesburg hospital after a long illness. She died at the age of 81.
Winnie was the wife of the late South African president Nelson Mandela. She kept the memory of her husband alive during his years in prison on Robben Island.
Mama Winnie is remembered for her valiant fight against the apartheid state and the sacrifices she made for the attainment of freedom and democracy of the nation.
