Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize says the number of Covid-19 cases in the country have risen to 7,220 following the 437 additional cases in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 7 more patients have succumbed to the virus. Coronavirus deaths toll in South Africa now stands at 138 cases.
6 death cases emerged from Western Cape, with 1 from the KwaZulu-Natal. Mkhize conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased and thanked the health workers who treated them.
A total of 257 541 tests have been conducted to date with 11 794 tests done in the past 24 hours. The Health Department announced the following stats:
