The Bundesliga will restart on May 15 after the German government gave the green light on a return to action.
The Bundesliga is the first of any of Europe’s major leagues to be given clearance to resume playing since the coronavirus pandemic took hold.
“Today’s decision is good news for the Bundesliga and second division,” German soccer league president Christian Seibert said. “It comes with great responsibility for the clubs and their employees to implement the medical and organizational requirements in a disciplined manner.
“Games without spectators are not ideal for anyone. In a crisis threatening the very existence of some clubs, however, it is the only way to keep the leagues in their current form.”
All matches will be played behind closed doors.
In South Africa is not yet confirmed on when the PSL can resume. However, South African Football Association (SAFA) insist that football should resume during Level 1 where sporting activities qualify to take place.
The PSL, on the other hand shares a different view and want matches to resume under stringent coronavirus health and safety regulations.
