The department of health confirmed that a total of 1, 218 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the last 24 hours, with 10 more related death.
As it stands, South Africa has a total of 21, 343 confirmed cases, 407 deaths, and 10, 104 recoveries.
“We wish to express our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who cared for the deceased,” the department said in a statement.

- Western Cape – 13826
- KwaZulu-Natal – 1777
- Eastern Cape – 2569
- Free State – 196
- Limpopo – 124
- Mpumalanga – 97
- North West – 81
- Northern Cape – 40
- Unallocated – 0
Meanwhile, the department says a total of 564 370 tests have been conducted to date, with 21 338 tests done in the past 24 hours.
