Condolences pour in from the football fraternity and the nation at large for the passing on of the 30-year old Golden Arrows football player Nkanyiso Mngwengwe on Monday, 18 May 2020.
Golden Arrows Chairlady Ms. Mato Madlala reveals that she is shocked and saddened by the passing away of Nkanyiso.
“I am saddened by the passing away of Nkanyiso. I remember when he first arrived at Arrows as a promising footballer, full of energy. He was always ready to fight for the team and acquitted very well over the years,” she said.
Details of Mngwengwe’s funeral are yet to be finalized.
He joined Golden Arrows in 2013 and went on to play more than 140 matches for Arrows over the years.
Golden Arrows describes him as a dedicated member of Abafana Bes’thende who was always ready to go an extra mile for the good of the team and that his passing leaves a huge void in the team.
Nkanyiso was found lifeless at his home in Cato Ridge near Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, but is said not to have reported any illness.
