Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has confirmed the club have extended the deal of central midfielder Mpho Makola until the end of 2020/21.
Makola had a deal that runs until the end of 2019/20 season, however, he impressed for the Citizens in this campaign, and has now been handed a new contract.
It is thought that the former Orlando Pirates star has been rewarded for his quality and experience by being handed a further year with the Mother City-based outfit.
As such, Comitis revealed his team has exercised the option on the player’s contract, telling EBNewsDaily “I can confirm that the future of Mpho Makola is with Cape Town City.
“A few months ago, in fact, I renewed Makola’s contract, which had an option for one extra year and we didn’t hesitate or wait till the last minute”
