Black Coffee is being dragged by a former female employee, Boniswa who claims she was abused by a guy named Amaru who is also a former employee and allegedly friends with Black Coffee.
This whole saga unfolds after Black Coffee had spoke out about Gender-Based Violence and the former female employee criticized Black Coffee for not standing up for her back then when she was being abused.
“You know Bhut’ Nathi, I hear you. My thing is , you know me personally. i was abused and i did reach out to you. We have spoken before about this, but never have you said anything about this.
“You marching tomorrow is great but as someone that knows you, you couldn’t stand up for me,” she said.
The former employee also adds that Black Coffee knew about the abuse at work and the recent rape incident she experienced from Amaru and yet did nothing.
“I wish him and all the men the best march. I only want him to be consistent. Quick to react to stranger and nothing with people he knows, qha,” she said.
Black Coffee however insists that in 2016 Boniswa, the former employee tendered her resignation from his company on the grounds that Amaru was constantly narcistic, emotionally abusive and difficult to work with.
“In 2018 Amaru and I were embroiled in a legal dispute which resulted in the termination of his employment,” he said.
Black Coffee says Amaru went on to start his own Agency in 2018 and the first employee in his agency was in fact Boniswa. He claims since then he has no relationship with the implicated abuser and only became aware of the rape allegations through social media.
“I had no contact or any form of relations with Boniswa since she went back to work with Amaru. This doesn’t mean that I don’t believe her. I believe her, I’m sorry the system let her down,” he said.
Black Coffee adds that he is still in a legal dispute with Amaru and currently has no relationship or friendship with him and do not speak on his behalf or for him.
