Well-known Limpopo media personality and comedian Captain Sabc Livhu, real name Livhuwani Madadzhe, is accused by his wife of domestic violence. The wife took to social media saying his philanthropic husband has continuously violated her physically.
In a video taken in a shady location in fear of being beaten by the husband, the wife narrated the abuse she has always endured from the man the public had always deemed as a leader generous and benevolent. She says the matter is known to Livhu’s friends including some of the close businesses he works with.
In his well-documented Facebook page, Captain Sabc Livhu is well known for helping poor families, building houses, donating food, and general activism in the Venda community, and mostly for his great role in saving a woman called Jane who was a victim of substance abuse.
On his business website, they note that they are ‘an organization that believes in uplifting and upholding those who can’t by themselves. “Every day we bring hope to the community members to make a difference,” it noted.
In some inflammatory statements, the woman went on to say Sabc Livhu had also spent a night in a hotel with one of the victims, saying he wanted to protect her not to run away as she had earlier done.
Talking to the host Mpho Rathando on Phalaphala FM, Jane also agreed that Livhu also tried to make some sexual advances when sharing a bed. “He also told me not to have a boyfriend, “I thought he was taking advantage of me,” Jane remarked on Phalaphala FM.
The matter gained more attention after it was discussed on the SABC radio Phalaphala FM on Thursday on the current affairs show ‘Tshiko’. Callers expressed their disappointments to Sabc Livhu who they have always regarded as the community hero.
In October last year, Livhuwani also appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on charges of contravening the National Road Safety Act. The case was postponed to 21 January 2021 and his bail of R1 500 was extended.
By the time of publishing, EBNewsDaily contacted Captain Sabc Livhu for a comment on his widely published contact phone number, and his business line for his online community radio to no avail.
