Just over a year after taking a leave of absence from all official roles in government, pending investigations into her role in a dodgy personal protective equipment (PPE) contract between her husband and the Gauteng health department, presidency spokesperson, Khusela Diko has been “reinstated on a warning”, News24 reported.
The news was welcomed with disgruntlement on social media with Khusela Diko trending on Tuesday morning.
The Presidency is yet to confirm reports that Diko has been reinstated with a warning.
Diko took a leave of absence in July last year following allegations of her late husband Bhaca King Madzikane II Thandisizwe Diko’s involvement in a PPE tender scandal.
The news of Khusela Diko being reinstated also comes just days after the passing of Babita Deokaran who was known for being a whistleblower to PPE Corruption that Diko’s husband was accused of.
Deokaran was a senior finance official in the Gauteng health department who got gunned down outside her home on Monday after dropping her daughter off at school.
