A long-awaited move of Lefa Hlongwane to TS Galaxy has finally happened with the club confirming the signing of the winger.
After making just 12 appearances at Maritzburg United this season he was released before the end of the first round.
Rumors flew around that the Rockets were looking to add him to Sead Ramovic’s squad and he penned a three-year deal with the Mpumalanga-based club.
The official club’s statement on Twitter:
“TS Galaxy Football Club has captured the signature of former Maritzburg United dribbling wizard Lefa Hlongwane.
Hlongwane has penned a three-year deal with the Rockets. TSG President Tim Sukazi is overwhelmed with excitement about securing the services of Hlongwane.”
Hlongwane who has also played for Jomo Cosmos and Black Leopards is delighted to join Galaxy.
“I’m excited to be part of this growing club and looking forward to making an instant impact,” Hlongwane told the club’s media department.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with my new teammates. They have welcomed me with open arms. The mission now is to help the club collect points.”
TS Galaxy’s coach Ramovic expressed his excitement of having Hlongwane join his troops.
“Lefa is an extremely talented midfielder. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him,” Sead Ramovic said.
“He will add value to our team. He is very creative and skillful. He now understands what we want from him.”
Hlongwane will have a task to assist the team in moving away from the relegation zone as they went to a break sitting in the 16th position with 13 points after 17 games in the DStv Premiership.
