Mamelodi Sundowns haven’t been holding back to lure Teboho Mokoena to Chloorkop for quite some time now.
Last week, Masandawana were believed to have tabled a huge offer to secure the services of the young midfielder.
Mokoena’s agent confirmed that the 24-year-old has agreed on personal terms with Downs.
Mokoena’s agent Glyn Binkin confirmed the receipt of an inquiry from Percy Tau’s former team.
“We have agreed personal terms with Sundowns and now it is club-to-club discussions over a fee,” Binkin was quoted as saying by TimesLIVE.
“Those discussions are also at quite an advanced stage. Sundowns are very keen to bring the player in during this transfer window.”
The cross-town rivals are still in the final stages of agreeing to a fee for the transfer of the Free State-born star.
However, there could be a late twist as the Belgian Pro League’s Anderlecht are said to have made an inquiry about Mokoena.
“There has been interest from clubs in Europe, though it is quite difficult to get transfers abroad in the current environment,” he added.
“A lot of clubs there are consolidating and unless they have a specific need for a particular player, it is difficult to get a move.
“But Anderlecht have made an inquiry and we will speak to them to hear their position. They have been tracking Teboho for a while so know what a quality player he is.”
Moreover, Kaizer Chiefs who were also interested in the Bafana Bafana star are reportedly out of the run with Masandawana having made a hefty offer.
