South African job seekers can use official national and provincial recruitment portals to find vacancies closing during September 2026.
The Department of Water and Sanitation’s recruitment portal lists roles with a closing time of 16:30 on 11 September. The positions span administration, technical services, engineering, human resources and water-control work.
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment’s e-recruitment system also lists current posts, including vacancies closing on 14 September.
Gauteng’s provincial jobs portal carries vacancies from departments and public facilities. Applicants should open the individual advert to confirm the employing institution, reference number, salary level, qualifications and closing time.
Check the official advert
A vacancy shared in a screenshot or messaging group may be incomplete or out of date. Use the department’s own portal to confirm that the post is still open and to read the full requirements.
Match the CV to the advert without inventing experience. Quote the correct reference number, provide the information requested and submit before the deadline. Save the confirmation page or email after applying.
Protect yourself from job scams
Government departments do not require applicants to pay a person to secure an interview. Do not send money for an application, background check or placement promise. Check that the web address belongs to the department or provincial government concerned.
Vacancies can be amended or withdrawn. The live advert remains the controlling source for the application method and closing date.
