Lamine Yamal scored twice as Barcelona beat Levante 4-2 in Valencia on Sunday to maintain a perfect start to the LaLiga season.
Xavi Espart and Karim Adeyemi also scored for Barcelona, who have won their opening five league matches and sit three points ahead of Real Madrid.
Espart opened the scoring after five minutes with his first senior goal. Yamal doubled the lead in the 19th minute after Raphinha controlled a pass from Fermin Lopez and found him in the penalty area.
Levante threaten late comeback
Yamal scored his second from the penalty spot shortly after half-time when Aissa Mandi was penalised for a foul on the winger.
Levante reduced the deficit in the 79th minute through Ivan Romero, who rounded goalkeeper Joan Garcia after an inaccurate Barcelona pass.
Roger Brugue made it 3-2 nine minutes later, giving the home side hope of completing a comeback.
Adeyemi ended that challenge with a goal in the third minute of added time.
The result gave Barcelona a sixth consecutive win in all competitions.
Defender Gerard Martin was substituted at half-time after appearing to struggle physically. Andreas Christensen replaced him.
The five-match winning start leaves Barcelona alone at the top of the league table after Sunday’s fixtures.
