Mamelodi Sundowns drew 0–0 away to Wiliete in Angola on Sunday, 18 October, while Durban City earned a 3–1 home win over AS Port Louis 2000 in their respective CAF first-leg qualifiers.

Sundowns’ Champions League second preliminary-round tie remains level heading into the return match. Durban City take a two-goal advantage to Mauritius in the Confederation Cup. Neither result secures a group-stage place yet.

Sundowns held in Lubango

The goalless match was played at Estádio Nacional da Tundavala in Lubango. Brayan León had an early attempt cleared off the line, while Ricardo Goss later saved a close-range effort from Mabululu.

Sundowns also had to replace Teboho Mokoena before half-time, with Bathusi Aubaas coming on. The Citizen’s match report said Mokoena was taken off on a stretcher; it did not establish a diagnosis.

The return leg is scheduled for Friday, 23 October, at Loftus Versfeld.

Late penalty restores Durban City cushion

CAF confirmed that Haashim Domingo, Gaston Sirino and Tashreeq Morris scored for Durban City against the Mauritian visitors.

Domingo opened the scoring after Alou Doumbia redirected Siphamandla Ncanana’s cross into the area. Sirino doubled the lead shortly after half-time with a finish from a tight angle.

Port Louis pulled a goal back in the second half. Durban City then missed a late opportunity through Jean Lubumba before substitute Morris converted a stoppage-time penalty following a foul in the box.

That third goal restored the hosts’ two-goal margin for the second leg. Durban City’s published fixture announcement lists the return in Mauritius on Sunday, 25 October.
